Her health care was her responsibility not mine. She took risks that she knew could result in severe injury and she alone is responsible for her decisions. I think is great that she choose to live and die free doing what she loved but I should not be forced against my will to work for her.

Apparently you can't read English, she was CANADIAN, and so why should she buy US health insurance.
What this article says loud and clear is that if you are traveling in the US, you do so at your own risk, and it would be BETTER for foreign tourists to SKIP travel to the US.
Also, if you had READ the article, you would have seen the comment on the FACT that many people, INCLUDING those with "insurance" go into bankruptcy and lose everything to medical bills EACH YEAR. In FACT, TWO THIRDS of ALL US bankruptcies are because of medical bills, something that happens NO WHERE ELSE on this planet. And MOST of those going into bankruptcy HAD insurance, they just didn't know that it was worthless, something you may find out one day dean.
I find it funny that people don't want to be told they have to have insurance, (whether Obama-care, car insurance, life insurance or whatever) but when something goes wrong they whine about being stuck for the bill and how the cost of care/repair has devastated their family and future. Hello---- That is what insurance is for. Take the risk and suffer the consequences of your decision or buy the insurance, you can't have it both ways. Don't blame others for your inaction. I feel bad for this lady but, I would bet she could have gotten some kind of health care insurance if she was as high profile as they say, what about folks how have no following, where would they have come up with $300K.
